The Simpsons is the longest running animated comedy in television history. On January 14th 2009The Simpsons started their year long anniversary celebration ”Best. 20 Years. Ever.” The year-long celebration will culminate on January 14th 2010, exactly 20 years from the original series premiere.
In 2007, The Simpsons released the long anticipated “The Simpsons Movie” which has grossed over $525 million to date world wide. They also celebrated their 400th episode, which is an amazing achievement for any animated series. The show has been awarded 23 Emmy Awards, 23 Annie Awards, a Peabody Award, 4 Genesis Awards, 7 Environmental Media Awards and 9 International Monitor Awards.
