The viral video campaign for Iamamiwhoami released its 5th video yesterday after being silent for nearly a week. Here the singer, or model, or hero, or whoever she is, though still dirty is more visible than in the first four videos, on her feet and leaning against a snow-covered tree again. The music here is probably the least engaging of the 5 videos, but the girl does hang a bunch of strawberrys in the last clip, which is visually stimulating, and in line with the Iamamiwhoami policy of flashing a last second shot of something unusual to remember, like the singer spinning on a tree stump to conclude the 4th video.

Over a month ago, one incredibly strange and anonymous YouTube video popped up, immediately attracting the attention of synth-loving arthouse weirdos everywhere. Uploaded under the alias “iamamiwhoami,” the short clip depicts a series of disturbingly beautiful images, including animal birth, human trees, and more, all while fluttering synth lines hint at a possible electronic release to come. Over the past few weeks two more clips have appeared, each boasting a simialrly cryptic vibe.

The Knife is a Swedish electronic duo formed in 1999.
The group rarely makes public appearances, most of their promotional photos feature the members wearing masks, and until recently, they outright refused to perform live concerts. Recently the group has showed themselves in public wearing masks formed as bird’s beaks, similar to those used by medieval doctors.
At the Swedish Grammy awards in January 2007, The Knife won in all six categories they were nominated in: Composer of the Year, Music DVD of the Year, Producer of the Year, Pop Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Again, they did not attend the award ceremony.
