Desperate Housewives preparing to defend itself against a discriminations lawsuit filed last week by ex-castmember Nicolette Sheridan, is quietly casting two new characters both African American.
Casting notices began circulating over the weekend seeking two actresses. The notices describe the new major characters as “Althea: A smart, sophisticated African-American woman in her early 30s who left her restaurant business in Chicago to return to her roots and family on Wisteria Lane.”
The other part calls for “an African-American woman in her mid 50s to portray Althea’s mother.”
The new characters will apparently be introduced next season.
